Special Weather Statement – Freezing Drizzle and Road Icing Possible Tonight

Special Weather Statement – Freezing Drizzle and Road Icing Possible Tonight
John Bobel
January 13, 2019

Patchy drizzle is expected to move through the region this afternoon and continue into the evening hours. Later tonight, as surface temperatures fall below freezing, we could see that drizzle change over to patchy areas of freezing drizzle. While the freezing drizzle is expected to be light in nature, untreated road surfaces and elevated road surface could become slick and hazardous. In addition, any roadways that have residual water on them late tonight could also become slick and hazardous.

If you have travel plans for late tonight and tomorrow morning, slow down and allow yourself extra time to reach your destination.

Stay tuned to NOAA all hazards weather radio and your local media for the latest updates on this winter weather situation.
