The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a Flash Flood Warning for East central Jessamine County in central Kentucky and Southeastern Fayette County in central Kentucky Until 745 PM EDT.

At 449 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Likely over one inch of rain has already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

Some locations that will experience flooding include Lexington, Nicholasville, Spears, Coletown, Athens, Logana, Union Mills and East Hickman.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe.
