Winter Weather Advisory for Sunday Night (March 11)

Winter Weather Advisory for Sunday Night (March 11)
John Bobel
March 10, 2018

The influence of a couple of storm systems will merge over Central Kentucky Sunday. Light rains look to start in the morning hours over southern Kentucky and spread northward through the day. The intensity of the cold rain will pick up by late afternoon.

Winds will become gusty out of the northeast and then north by late Sunday afternoon into the evening. Colder air moving in with these winds will cause a transition to snow sometime in the evening hours. The earlier this transition happens, the more snow will fall. At this time, the best chance for 1 to 3 inches of snow runs south of a line from Hartford to Elizabethtown to Lexington.

Locally higher amounts are possible in a narrow swath within that area. Stay tuned for updates, including the likely issuance of a Winter Weather Advisory either later this evening or early Sunday.
