Freezing Drizzle Alert for Tonight – Winter Storm Watch Starts Sunday

Freezing Drizzle Alert for Tonight – Winter Storm Watch Starts Sunday
John Bobel
February 12, 2021

Friday Night – February 12

Light freezing drizzle is possible late tonight into Saturday over eastern portions of Kentucky. Areas roughly east of a line from Tompkinsville to Georgetown could see light ice accumulations up to a tenth of an inch. Temperatures will be in the mid 20s overnight, so any drizzle may result in slick roads. Use caution if traveling. A glaze of ice is especially likely on untreated roads and elevated surfaces.

Sunday, February 14

A Winter Storm Watch will be in effect from Sunday evening through Tuesday afternoon.

Expect moderate to heavy mixed precipitation. Total snow accumulations of 4 inches or more possible. Ice accumulations exceeding a tenth of an inch over portions of the area.

Travel could be difficult to impossible at times. Power outages are possible due to snow and previous ice accumulations on trees and power lines.
